Van Derveer Elementary School Projects Key Highlights:

• Construction of a new security vestibule and office to enhance school safety.

• Renovation of the multipurpose room to improve interior learning spaces.

• Development of a multi-sport turf field for school and community use.

• Installation of a new storage facility to support athletic programs.

2026 Anticipated Start Date Projects

Our elementary school will benefit from enhanced safety features at the front entrance, as well as athletic updates that would benefit all students and community members.

• Projected to begin in June of 2026, a new security vestibule and office in the existing lobby for enhanced safety  – giving all three district schools the safety features that our community values. As well, a renovation of the multipurpose room to replace aging finishes past their useful life.

These projects are projected to be completed in August of 2026.

• Projected to begin in June of 2026, a new steel storage building to replace the current storage containers and to house athletic equipment and facilities storage needs for the fields located at Van Derveer.

This project is projected to be completed in September of 2026.

• Projected to begin in June of 2026, the creation of a multi-sport turf field to serve the whole community and various age levels with a varsity baseball field and opportunities for football, lacrosse, soccer, and field hockey.

  • New underground drainage/basin and grading.

  • Also new fencing, bleachers, scoreboard, dugouts, bullpen areas, and warning tracks.

  • Opportunities for Van Derveer students to use the turf for daily recess and other school events.

This project is projected to be completed in October of 2026.
